Go forth, young man DVD

And it’s official. Our baby is out in the world. We’ve raised it the best we could with several edits and some music changes, but now it’s time to kick the little freeloader out of the nest so it can go get a job and start taking care of its folks.

Tuesday night was our big send off in New York City, and by ‘big send off’ I mean complete disaster. Well, maybe not complete, but certainly more disastrous than we had originally anticipated. Hey, at least we got some decent photos out of the deal.

There’s me chatting up these two super-fine ladies I met at the bar for the first time. They were total strangers, and I am not married to the one of the right, nor do I run a business with the other. No no. Total strangers. And they dug me. I am a chick-magnet.

The highlight of the evening was Jesse Gimbel rocking the suburbs urb.

Jesse Gimbel

We’d met once before and talked online and on the phone quite a bit about his involvement in the movie and future collaborations, but it wasn’t until I spent almost all of the two days of the release parties in a car with the kid that it became clear just how perfectly suited he is to work with us on everything we ever do for the rest of our lives.

Get used to the “Music by Jesse Gimbel” credit at the beginning of things.

Jeff White

Jeff White (aka Lucky, bka “That creepy guy from the movie”) even showed up for a bit looking mighty trim and mustached. Also a name you’re likely to see in Filmkid credits to come.

For more pictures check out the new Gallery section of Filmkid, which right now only has pictures from the release parties, but will soon have so much more. Also, if you were at the parties and took pictures send them to filmkid at gmail.com and I’ll post them if I like them. (Note, I tend to love pictures of myself)

Then there was night two! Of which I presently have no photos, but I do have video that will be edited together and posted sometime after Jesus’sbirthdaymas. Highlight of the video? Jesse Gimbel and my pal Steve Hoydis double teaming some guitars.

So thanks to everyone who made it out to the parties, and everyone who didn’t will not be thanked unless they have already or will be purchasing a DVD and/or T-shirt. (Thank yous aren’t free, kids.)

Enjoy life.
